KEYNOTE SPEAKER 

René Molengraft - Keynote Speaker
René Molengraft TU/e - Eindhoven University of Technology
René van de Molengraft received his MSc degree (with honors) in Mechanical Engineering from TU/e in 1986. From 1986 until 1990 he was a research assistant at TU/e. In 1990 he received his PhD with a thesis on the subject of Identification of mechanical systems for control. He is currently an associate professor in the Control Systems Technology group at TU/e and chair of CST-Robotics. In 2005, he founded the TechUnited RoboCup team (world champion RoboCup MSL robot soccer in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2022 and world champion RoboCup @Home care robotics in 2019 and 2022). René was the coordinator of the European FP-7 RoboEarth project from 2009 to 2013, which was one of the first projects to investigate the huge potential of the internet as knowledge hub for autonomous robots. He was the main organizer of the RoboCup world championship in 2013 in Eindhoven, The Netherlands and he co-authored more than 70 scientific articles and over 150 conference contributions (Google Scholar H-index: 35).

José Santos-Victor IST-ISR Universidade de Lisboa
José Santos-Victor doutorou-se em Engenharia Electrotécnica e de Computadores pelo Instituto Superior Técnico, (Lisboa, Portugal) em parceria com a Universidade de Génova (Itália), na área da Visão Artificial e Robótica. É Professor Catedrático do Departamento de Engenharia Electrotécnica e de Computadores do IST e é investigador do Instituto de Sistemas e Robótica (ISR-Lisboa). Foi Presidente do ISR-Lisboa (2015-2022) e é o Coordenador do Laboratório Associado em Robótica e Sistemas de Engenharia (LARSyS, desde Novembro de 2016). É presidente do Departamento de Engenharia Electrotécnica e de Computadores do IST (desde Janeiro de 2021). Foi responsável científico do ISR-Lisboa em vários projectos nacionais e europeus na área da robótica e visão artificial. Faz investigação em visão por computador, robótica e sistemas de aprendizagem, nomeadamente sobre a ligação entre a percepção e a acção. Tem-se debruçado sobre a modelação de sistemas biológicos e o desenvolvimento de sistemas artificiais biologicamente plausíveis, incluindo robots humanóides com capacidades cognitivas e de aprendizagem inspiradas nas humanas.
 Foi editor associado da IEEE Transactions on Robotics e do Journal of Robotics and Autonomous Systems. Foi vice-presidente do IST para os assuntos internacionais entre 2006 e 2015. Foi Secretário Geral da rede europeia CLUSTER entre julho de 2010 e junho de 2012. Coordena o Programa Doutoral Internacional Robotics, Brain and Cognition e é o actual Director do Colégio Mente-Cérebro da Universidade de Lisboa. É membro correspondente da Academia de Ciências de Lisboa e Fellow do IEEE.

CONVENT OF CHRIST GUIDED TOUR

April, 26th (After afternoon session)

On this late afternoon tour, we will visit the historical Castle and the Convent of Christ, one of the most important monument in Portugal. The convent and castle complex is a historic and cultural monument and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983.
